Yes, it is expensive. That being said, it is the answer for my large, active, almost 10 year old dog. I bought the off the shelf brace first to try it out (It was $275) and I modified it to fit and support his knee. It did wonders, but it did not QUITE fit and it was a royal pain to put on and after 4 months the Velcro was wearing out. It did show me though that there was hope and I went for the custom brace. It is very well made and fits him perfectly. Even with the permanent ACL tear we are back to car rides, walks and night time rat hunting. This guy is also a service animal and his health and happiness are very important to our family. A big thanks to AOCpet

Unfortunately, my dog needs surgery so I returned the knee brace after my request was granted and I am waiting for confirmation of the refund. There was nothing wrong with the brace but I guess the injury was too severe.
